Science Intent
At Hillary, we recognise Science as a subject that incites, awe and wonder, curiosity and discovery. We believe that through a rich and engaging curriculum, our children will thrive and become aspirational, competent scientists providing them with the knowledge of a strong understanding of the world around them.
Through quality first teaching, we aim to inspire the children to ask questions, seek answers and be inquisitive about natural phenomena.
Our curriculum provides a comprehensive progression of skills in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Our children will be encouraged to build on their prior knowledge and skills to articulate their ideas clearly encouraging them to use technical vocabulary accurately and precisely.
Hillary will teach a range of engaging topics in which children will investigate scientific phenomena in the real world: the children will be exposed to looking at scientists who have impacted the world and what makes them unique.
Overall, the rich and inspiring curriculum will allow the children to thrive in our world. It will allow them to experience things first hand and develop their love of science, creating well-versed citizens who have love and respect for the world around them.
