Headteacher's Welcome

 Dear Parents,

Thank you for choosing to send your child to Hillary Primary School.

A school has been on this site for over 100 years.

I hope the school website will give you an insight into the education and experiences your child will receive.

Hillary is a friendly and happy school where children are taught the skills they need to thrive.

Enabling them to grow and be successful members of a modern British society.

Our school community is proud of its diversity and celebrates its importance at the heart of Pleck. Hillary has over 700 children on role and has children who collectively speak 50 languages.

Add our website to your favourites list and visit us regularly to keep up with events, activities and achievements.

Contact the school office if you need to know more.

The office team will be happy to help.

Yours sincerely,

Ms L. Cherry

Our Year 6 Leavers Music Video

We cannot tell you how proud we are of this bunch of children. They have shown such resilience throughout the Pandemic and have come out the other side amazing individuals. In collaboration with Magic Mountain Creative the children wrote their own lyrics, recorded their songs and performed with confidence for the camera. This is a memory to keep forever of their time here at Hillary. We hope you enjoy this video as much as the children and staff did. Well Done Year 6! (magicmountaincreative.com)

Operation Encompass

Dear Parent / Carer,

I am writing to remind you that School will be taking part in a jointly run operation between Walsall Council, West Midlands Police and our School called Operation Encompass. This has been set-up to help schools to provide support to children who have been present at incidents of domestic abuse. We know that children can be traumatised when they are involved in, present or witness to domestic abuse and may be in need of emotional and practical support. Our School will receive a confidential communication from the Police Operation Encompass on the morning after any police notification or attended domestic abuse incident. School have Designated Safeguarding Leads who have received training to allow them to use the information that has been shared in confidence to make sure that the right support is offered at the right time, for our schools children, young people and families. We are keen to offer the best support possible to our pupils and we have adopted Operation Encompass as we believe this is extremely beneficial to meeting the needs of our pupils. If you have any concerns or questions, then please contact our Safeguarding team or myself and we will be happy to discuss this further. Further information about the project can be found on our school’s website and is available from the School office on request. Further information is also available at: www.operationencompass.org
